Sienna has recently secured a new civil engineering project within the Port of Southampton to construct a new cable trench and chamber network along the berth to provide a facility for ship to shore power. This new facility will reduce the need for ships to run their engines whilst docked, significantly reducing the ships environmental impact and carbon footprint. This will the first facility of its kind for docked cruise ships in the UK.
We have phased this project in conjunction with the specialist electrical design contractor who will install the first phase of the new power system. Works are due to complete end of March 2021.
