Neil Bevington, Sienna Director, is a keen sailor and belongs to Lee-on-Solent sailing club where he is heavily involved in the Junior Gybe Youth Sailing programme.  Many of the boats and ribs used within the programme were getting old and tied, so Sienna decided to sponsor the club and purchase a new rib which is now being enjoyed by the many young sailors involved in the programme.

The Gybe Club is a regular Saturday morning fun youth sailing club for 10 to 16 year olds. During each session Gybers’ will practice sailing skills from any of the 4 Stages of the Youth Scheme, but most importantly they will be encouraged by our trained RYA coaches and support team, to have safe fun whilst afloat.

Once students have master the Gybe club they move on to the Sailing Academy; this is for sailors who’ve gone through all the RYA stages and looking to try racing, and take their sailing to the next level. Students try their hand at more advanced boat handling, spinnaker work, making the boat go faster and racing.

Neil Bevington, Sienna Director, commented: “It has been great to provide our young sailors with a new boat to enhance their training and time out on the water. It’s a fantastic programme, enjoyed by many young people in the area, and I’m sure we are creating many new racers for the future”
